San Diego Zoo

It was a very bright, sunny and hot day in San Diego when we visited the zoo. Zoe was ready with her shades!!

We started the day taking a guided tour bus ride around the park - a double decker bus to boot! Zoe and Daddy enjoying the view up top!

Zoe takes a juice break with Mama - she's the one with all the snacks and goodies!

This koala looked sooo comfy, cozy....I look at this picture and most days I want to be that koala!

Zoe was enamoured with those crank machines that flatten out and put a design on a penny. She noticed these all around the park more than the animals!!

I do it myself!! (The elder lady in the background was getting a kick out of watching Zoe trying to crank the machine!)

Look Daddy, it's a camel!!

Daddy, I can't see the kitty-cat!

She didn't miss this big cat!

Here comes the jaguar...
lurking and looking for lunch...

hmmm, no food here...wait, where's Zoe?!?!?

We saw all the elephants in the new Elephant Odyssey Exhibit...

This one wants some peanuts...

Here's the beautiful macaws shown during an animal show...

Zoe volunteered to be a helper during the show...

A California Condor flew over our heads!!

The sea lion gave some splashes to the audience on this hot day!

I think Zoe's favorite part of the day was feeding the goats in the petting zoo.

Did you see that? I fed the goat!
Here you go little goat...

The giraffes were a must-see for Zoe!

The hippos were also a must-see until she saw a sculpture of a hippo...she could have cared less about the real ones just 10 feet away!

Tiger resting on a little perch looking at all us strange people.

Zoe the navigator led us to our next stop...

We had a little fun with all the cut-outs we found!

On our way out, some musicians and entertainers were having a little hula hoop contest... Zoe had some difficulty keeping it going...

Leaving the world famous San Diego Zoo!

Someone's pooped! But she held a death grip on that box of raisins!

We then capped off our day in Old Town eating fresh hand made tortillas, margaritas & beer [ we limited Zoe to just one margarita ;) ] and yummy Mexican food!! It was a good day!

Recap: Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day at Uncle Roger & Aunt Teresa's house. Zoe loves going to their house...they have a huge backyard where she can run and run and run around in circles!

Whew, after all that runnin', she needed a little rest!

Here comes Josiah down from the garden on the upper terrace.
The newly engaged, Angela, shows off her ring! (Fiance, Dejan, spent the day with his family.)
Zoe's Uncle Dan, cousin Donny, Aunt Lisa, Uncle Andy, Grandma & Grandpa just chatting away after dinner.
Uncle Roger gives a lesson on paper airplane making...
and a demonstration to boot.
Daddy retrieves a stray paper airplane from the pool.
Donny just couldn't get his airplane to fly...
but Josiah sure could.
Nicholas was more interested in feeding the fish.
Are you two spying on the neighbors???
Pretty girl...
Happy Father's Day Uncle Dan! (yeah, he looks happy!)
Happy Father's Day Uncle Andy! (well, he's a bit happier!)
Happy Father's Day Grandpa! (see Grandpa, I signed my name!)
Happy Father's Day Daddy! (we couldn't wrangle our daughter away from playing long enough to pose with us!)

Thanks for being wonderful, caring, involved and loving fathers!!

It's a sunflower day.

I was completely drawn to these sunflowers that were growing near our house. Of course, I had to drag Zoe out there with me to take a few photos...

Whaddya want me to do, mama?
Just give me a cheesy smile...
I want to play with the weeds...
Weeds and dirt are more fun than flowers!

Daddy Bustin'

There's nothing more fun than a bucking Daddy horse!

(Okay, Zoe looks a little scared here.)
Yee-haw!!!

Whoo-hoo, that was fun! Brian looks done.

Bubbles...

Yup, no doubt about it, playing with bubbles is Zoe's favorite activity. She loves 'em big, she loves 'em small, she loves to blow 'em, she loves to let the machine blow bubbles so she can run through 'em, she also loves to pop 'em, stomp on 'em, and watch 'em fly high up in the sky. She just cannot get enough bubbles in her life.

Here she is preppin' the work area... (check her out in her rockin' boots! I love those boots!)
Workin' it...
and admiring 'em.

Hmmm...how come this isn't working?
Oh, there it goes...
That's a funny shaped bubble!

What other bubble wands are in here?
I have to huff and puff and blow real hard...
Jus' so cute!

Have a happy bubble day!

A bit behind in blogging...but Daddy's home!

Okay, so I'm a bit behind in blogging Zoe's adventures (well, a lot behind!!) I will eventually go back and tell Zoe tales from June & July. But before I dive into that, I'll post something a bit more recent. Brian spent 2 1/2 weeks out on tour and Zoe kept track of where Daddy was and when he was coming home...

Here she's pointing out that Daddy comes home!!

We went to the airport to pick up Daddy and here was her reaction...(press the arrow buttons)

I think she missed her Daddy very much! (And Mommy missed Daddy too!) We are so glad he is home!!!
