The New Children's Museum - San Diego

While Daddy spent the day working, Zoe and I headed to the New Children's Museum in San Diego. The museum wasn't very crowded at all so she got to really spend a lot of time at each exhibit. The museum is very hands-on and free thinking...here she got to make clouds.

There was a special Harold & the Purple Crayon exhibit and there was this computer game that Zoe & I couldn't quite master. But Zoe had fun making purple squiggles!

And Zoe made macaroni art...it's supposed to be a portrait of Daddy.

There was shadow art too! Making a heart was an easy shape to make...

Mommy couldn't quite make the octopus she wanted but luckily this shark was a pre-made shadow puppet!

Zoe made a paratrooper out of some cardboard and a plastic bag and then shot it out of this cannon.

And there was home-made bubble solution and you could make wands using pipe cleaners - Zoe wrapped the pipe cleaner around the plastic piece and could make big, big bubbles!

There was also places just to play around in. There was this little box called a "Port-A-Party" that was decorated like an ipod. When you stepped into this box & closed the door, the lights went out, a disco ball lit up and loud music started to play - and it's your own private little dance party!! Here's Zoe looking up at the disco ball.

And here's some spastic dancing...

There was also this big pillow & mattress room where kids can play around...they could use the mattress as a slide

And a whole bunch of tire pillows...
Whoops!
I'm okay!

There was also this long, wormy thing that Zoe loved to crawl on and watch herself in the mirror...

And, outside, there was a VW bug for the kids to paint...

Notice the paint in the hair...

And this is why Mommy doesn't let Zoe play with paint...all on her clothes, in her hair, on her arms and feet - she got a bath when we got back to the hotel.

We did almost all of the exhibits (I took only pictures of a few of the exhibits.) We spent several hours there and Zoe loved her day at the museum!
